Jesus has called andempowered HisChurch - believers
today - to continue the ministry that He began. Believers havereceived
“power to be His witnesses” (Acts 1:8) and we
are called to do as Jesus did. He said: “The things that I do you shall
do also and greater things than these you will do…” (John 14:12).
We have entered a
season in the Church when He is now asking believers to do just that -
do what He did and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, ministeringsupernaturally. Like Paul, we are called to share the
Good News that Jesus saves, heals, delivers, and sets people free with
more than words. We are called to do the work of the ministry with
“words and deeds … by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of
the Spirit of God - so that we have fully proclaimed the true Gospel.”
(Romans 15:18-19)Words are no longer enough - we
must now walk in the “demonstration of the power” (1 Corinthians 2:4)
and prove to an unbelieving world that Jesus has been raised from the
dead and is alive, active - ministering through his empowered followers
today.
